I’ve not got a WebFiling Authentication Code, how do I change my Registered Office?
All UK companies that are formed online, either with a company formation agent like us or directly with Companies House, are automatically assigned a 6 alphanumeric code called the WebFiling Authentication Code. This code allows anyone who holds it to make online updates and changes to the company. But what if you’ve misplaced your code and need to update your company’s registered office?
Making the change is very simple (and does not cost a thing), all you need to do is print out and complete the AD01 change of registered office form and then post it to one of the following, depending on where your company was formed:
For companies registered in England and Wales:
The Registrar of Companies, Companies House, Crown Way, Cardiff, Wales, CF14 3UZ. DX 33050 Cardiff
For companies registered in Scotland:
The Registrar of Companies, Companies House, Fourth floor, Edinburgh Quay 2, 139 Fountainbridge, Edinburgh, Scotland, EH3 9FF
For companies registered in Northern Ireland:
The Registrar of Companies, Companies House, Second Floor, The Linenhall, 32-38 Linenhall Street, Belfast, Northern Ireland, BT2 8BG
Once posted the registered office is normally updated within 10 days.
